05 June 2018, New York, London & Sydney: Metamako, a leader in the low-latency, FPGA-enabled network solutions space, has been shortlisted by a prestigious Australian awards organisations, highlighting its success in its home market but also its fast international growth and development. The news comes during an exciting and crucial period for Metamako, which in April announced its first acquisition of US firm xCelor’s hardware business.
Metamako was chosen as a finalist by FinTech Australia’s ‘Finnies’ for Excellence in Industry Collaboration & Partnerships for its recent project with Deutsche Börse Group, Europe’s largest exchange, where every trade is now monitored and timestamped via a Metamako device.
Dr. Dave Snowdon, Metamako founder and CTO, commented: “All else aside, being shortlisted in an award is a humbling achievement. However, when it is specifically to Australia it adds another layer of meaning. We’re truly proud of our Aussie heritage, so being recognised on that front feels extra special.”
Kevin Covington, CEO, added: “There are few greater honours for a young tech business than to become a global name and subsequently be showcased, as an example of success, in its country of origin. The whole team should be thrilled after the hard work and dedication that has gone into making this happen.”
The company, founded in 2013 with 8 Sydney-based staff, has since seen tremendous expansion. It was named one of the country’s fastest-growing tech businesses by Deloitte in December, with over 800% growth recorded over the previous 3 years. Now with close to 60 employees in offices across London, Sydney, New York, Chicago and Tokyo, Metamako is poised to continue this growth, increase its international client base and forge ever-stronger relationships across the industry.
Metamako is the network platform of choice for financial firms such as electronic traders, brokers and exchanges. It is now expanding into new verticals, notably the security space with its recent announcement of a low-latency firewall solution, as well as network monitoring, telecommunications and data centres.
The winners of the Finnies will be announced at a Gala Awards Night on 12th June.
